About us

The Dutch Bike Shop is a family business set up in 2011 and run by Netherlands native Astrid van Gelder- Fitzpatrick and her husband Frank Fitzpatrick.  Being a Dutch native who understands the practicalities of the Dutch cycle culture Astrid provides a variety of quality Dutch bicycles and accessories, bringing a wide range of utility bikes from Holland to Ireland.

Dutch bikes are practical, low maintenance, reliable, sturdy, made to carry loads safely, will last the distance and there is no need to dress up in lycra.  The Dutch Bike Shop caters for family cycling, commuting, leisure, cargo carrying (including children!) and stocks a range of brands such as Workcycles, Bikkel, Royal Dutch Gazelle  as well as electric bikes, Onderwater Tandem bikes, and cargo bikes (Babboe, Winther), At the Dutch bike shop there are quality cycles and accessories to suit all price points.

With brands that you won’t find in any other bike shop in Ireland

All Dutch Bike Shop bikes come with a free health check covering the first 12 months after purchase, and thereafter will be followed by excellent after sales service.  A wide range of practical and cycle chic accessories are also available, from ding-dong bells and cargo crates, baskets, bike trailers to helmets. People can also avail of cargo bike hire, which is a great way to ‘try before they buy’

Here at Dutch Bike Shop we don’t believe in having to dress up for the journey, instead on one of our bikes you dress for the destination and you will arrive in style.

Our bicycles are made to cycle comfortably in an upright position and bring your belongings with you on your bike instead of having to carry them in your back.

Our vision is to let everybody enjoy the comfortable practical cycles the Netherlands are famous for.

All our bikes can be purchased on the bike to work scheme and are backed up by our excellent after sales service with a full work shop on site.

Our products & services

We provide our customers with a variety of quality Dutch bicycles and accessories in Ireland

Our bicycles are practical, low maintenance, reliable, sturdy, made to carry loads safely and will last the distance.

We understand that people have different needs than a mountain bike or a race bike can provide, and that is why we created the Dutch Bike Shop.

To bring the practical utility bicycles from Holland to Ireland.

All our bikes come with a free health check covering the first three months after purchase, and thereafter will be followed by our excellent after sales service.

Feel free to come and test these original bicycles without any obligation.

If there are any products you cannot find in our range, get in touch and we will try and locate them for you.

Bicycle repairs

We have a full workshop on site where we can look after any make or model bicycle, it doesn’t have to be bought here or even a Dutch bike. Frank is a fully qualified bicycle mechanic who can do anything from fixing a puncture, to replacing cables to bleeding the brakes on an expensive road bike and everything in between.

We stock a full range of parts and if it happens that it is not in stock we can order it in for you. We try to have most bikes that are dropped in to us ready to go the same day. There is no need to book in advance, but if you are under pressure for time let us know and we will do our best to get it done in the stated timeframe.

Bike Building

If you have purchased your bike from an online retailer and need to get it assembled professionally feel free to bring it down and we can do it for you. We will let you know how much this will cost when you bring the bike in to the shop.

Come visit our shop

After the fire in our previous location in Ballymount made the building a demolition site, we have opened the doors to our new shop on 6 Willowfield Park in Goatstown.
